Did you ever wonder whether there are metal contaminants in your backyard soil and what you can do about it? March 16-17, bring your (dried and homogenized) soil to Clark Park in West Philadelphia from noon to 5pm to be tested for contaminant metals like mercury, cadmium and lead. The results will be provided for FREE and can be location-anonymous. This is a great opportunity to learn about your soil. We will provide information on lead (Pb) toxicity and pollution and also to learn strategies for dealing with and gardening on contaminated soil. We will also test soil for pH and serve free soup made with local produce!
